One of my family's favorite Christmas traditions is listening to Christmas music while decorating the Christmas tree. This is a tradition that my boyfriend brought from his family to our little family. Another tradition we do is that we get to pick a gift to open a week before Christmas. We usually just pick one of the smaller ones, that way we get to be surprised when we open the bigger ones Christmas morning.
Our favorite tradition is going to Christmas villages to see their decorations while drinking hot cocoa. Our favorite destination is Frankenmuth, Michigan which holds the largest ornament store! We are trying to visit either Telluride, Colorado or Leavenworth, Seattle during Christmas season because I've seen so many videos of their decorations during the season and they are truly the definition of a Christmas village.
Now that my little one is 2, we try to go outside and build a snowman if the weather is permiting, since he was too young to take outside in the previous years. Although he hasn't interacted that much with the snow I'm pretty sure this is an activity he will really enjoy.
My boyfriend and I enjoy going sledding. If we're able to travel for the Christmas season I hope that we can try snowboarding, as it is an activity I've always been inclined towards but never have had the chance to try out. It's not really a tradition given the fact that there has been a couple years where it didn't snow that much but we do hope we are able to take our son sledding for the first time this year!
